There's such a deep connection here and in several of these between ritual, appearance and essence: presenting and manifesting correct behaviour is tied to both bearing good emotions/thoughts and the prosperity of the state. 'Rectifies' is itself an interesting choice: is he setting problems right, or does his personal rectitude infuse the broader context he operates in via his correct deportment?
