Sigh, my friend Mari was right that this ‘looking at Jingyan and Nihuang’ scene has poly vibes.

Is Changsu so cool about the title because by birth it’s a vast step down for him, and he doesn’t respect this emperor?

So how did Jingning come to chase this cat? Too weirdly specific for it to be random. Not a highly-controllable plan, though.

It is a very non-controllable plan, and how did they know she'd be all "Oh, save those kids."?

I sort of picture someone holding the cat until the right moment and someone else with some tuna in the room they want the cat to run into. ;-)

Heavily implied that Meng Zhi planned the cat thing -- the nod he gave MCS.

Chapter 23

Weird use of disdainful.

I’m glad Changsu gave that guy a restorative, because it’d have been too shitty of him to destroy some innocent person’s life’s work/cultivation to make such a small point.

Me too. It also shows he's paying attention to the small details and I think makes himm out to be a good guy. He's limiting the damage unlike some of the other characters.

Chapter 24

It's very on the ball of Prince Jing to prompt his sister. I suspect he has a better relationship with Jingning than their brothers do, for all Prince Jing is hardly here. He, at least, had one good sibling to model his own behaviour as an elder brother off of.

Prince Jing, Meng Zhi, and early-book Yujin all get to be a lot more perceptive than their drama counterparts.
