Because the results were so close, let's commit to a review period after we've finished the first poetry collection to see if we'd prefer to move to Discord or are happy here. That sound ok?

FYI, there were about 10 respondees, and say another 4+ who I think may well get 'round to it.

Before I set up the com, what are people's privacy preferences?

- Fully Open Plus: posts not locked, and can tell people to check out stuff on the com where relevant (anyone who wants privacy welcome to join the group via a burner account)
- Fully Open: discoverable, but not really shared around (anyone who wants privacy welcome to join the group via a burner account)
- Compromise Formation: "discussions happen in private but question/poem is in public and maybe an anonymised summary"/private posts and public weekly round ups (This was suggested by a member. Pros: privacy, cons: the work of making the round-up post.)
- Fully Private: Fight Club mode.

Please comment with any thoughts/preferences.

INCIDENTALLY, this does not have to be the Com Name. It is literally just the first thing I thought of, which is no basis for a system of government, and indeed hardly even a good way of deciding what I should have for lunch.

Hi everyone! I'm happy with open/fully open plus, and I would suggest a better com name but I can't think of one, because I don't know what's for breakfast yet.

Is DW Mandarin-friendly? I assume so?

I'm happy with any, though I'd lean towards open plus personally. However, I'd suggest turning IP logging off, or at least making it not appear to everyone?

Okay, I've turned IP logging off. There's a lot of privacy settings on this, which I don't really understand/have thoughts on, but if anyone does, please say.

Also, it seems you can screen individual comments in threads, which might augur well for people who want to keep their contributions on the DL?

I'm on team compromise and I also realised the annoying thing about dreamwidth which is that it's Terrible On Mobile.

I /think/ we just need to choose a good theme, as I've heard chatter that some of the more modern ones are okay on mobile. I'm trying to dig up that post now though and cannot ugh.

If we were to make everyone an admin and then baseline-screen (https://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse?faqid=270) the comments of anyone who preferred that, all signed in members could read these, but no one else. The screened person could elect to unscreen any of their comments if they chose, but it'd have to be an active decision.

I *think* that would work?

I'm going to go ahead and make our first week's discussion posts, but set them to Members. Later, when we've sorted what privacy options we're going with for anyone who wants them, I'll make the posts public.

Hello, thanks so much for setting this up, while DW isn't quite as nice on mobile, I also don't anticipate not having access to a full personal computer very often these days since work travel is heavily curtailed.

Regarding privacy preferences, I'm perfectly happy with any of the levels of privacy preferences.
