SVSSS Read Along

excaliburedpan and I both happen to be reading this danmei book at the moment, so I thought I'd throw up a post for any comments if anyone wants to read along now or later, and shove my locked-twitter read-along thoughts somewhere more accessible. I'm going to break it up by blocks of chapters, then do an Overall Thoughts subsection. Assume spoilers.

- 'Shen Qingqiu helped Mu Qingfang sit down, and glanced at the glittering water by the boat; he could even see several fish happily swishing their tails as they swam by, and said in passing, “This water is so clear.”

Right after saying this, something much larger drifted in after the swimming fish.

even through meh translation you get the sense of some great comedic timing.

- why is Liu QQ a bitch to this kid trying to do the important job of keeping ppl out of Plague Town when his colleagues are trying to explain/de-escalate the situation? He is a bad coworker.

- 'Shen Qingqiu: “In my eyes, this child can exchange a few blows with you and has a pretty good temperament; both are hard to find. He is a moldable talent.”

Liu Qingge: “Moldable is useless, I don’t take disciples. Too bothersome.”'

- The poetry quotation is such a bitch move, pure 'I'm still the best Lit Peak Alumni, btw', I love Binghe, what an asshole

- It's interesting that Binghe doesn't think SQQ suspects that bc he was a demon training under Meng Mo, HE (wittingly or un) was responsible for the confrence's sabotage and the ensuing slaughter? That'd be a natural and SERIOUS accusation.
