SVSSS Read Along

excaliburedpan and I both happen to be reading this danmei book at the moment, so I thought I'd throw up a post for any comments if anyone wants to read along now or later, and shove my locked-twitter read-along thoughts somewhere more accessible. I'm going to break it up by blocks of chapters, then do an Overall Thoughts subsection. Assume spoilers. 

There are 81 novel chapters, then Extras.

I need someone and explain a few words and how they're used in a danmei context. Arrogant is one, saintly is the other, masochistic is the latest addition. I can feel a gap in my understanding and context

As far as I can tell this use is borrowed from/influenced by Japanese BL ; I think iirc the word they use is taken from like the BL equivalent of AO3 tags. So it's, hm, explicitly a BDSM thing but with the additional context of the stories and tropes that you get in BL associated with the M-type characters?

Which I definitely don't have a full handle on or anything but. Yeah.
