excaliburedpan and I both happen to be reading this danmei book at the moment, so I thought I'd throw up a post for any comments if anyone wants to read along now or later, and shove my locked-twitter read-along thoughts somewhere more accessible. I'm going to break it up by blocks of chapters, then do an Overall Thoughts subsection. Assume spoilers.

- Here in ch21 qi qingqi thinks she's dealing with SQQ's twink boytoy who brought snacks and is just done

Answering one of superborb's questions the other day about Buddhist cultivation in xianxia

- Also I guess so far LBH has never stopped to consider his obsession object could be straight? I mean granted, it’s not a thing I’d ever think about SQQ either, but.

- SQQ REALLY callous/detached about the first Qin girl’s death. (He’s not good at that when it’s Binghe.) Is this detachment a processing mechanism re his situation/what he’s about to have to do? Or he just doesn’t think they’re real? Or he’s a subconscious jealous bitch?

jfc can you--for five min together, can you not be obsessed with him. I know you don't see it but it is so embarrassing.

relatedly: need post-canon fic where SQQ thinks he's cool but then has full on internal/external 'well MY HUSBAND--' passages of this ilk, as per the text

- Arguably if SQQ believed these were real people he had an ethical duty to tell them the conference was going to be invaded even at the cost of his own life/at the risk the system wouldn't let him/tho he probably wouldn't have been believed, so is in part responsible for deaths
