SVSSS Read Along

excaliburedpan and I both happen to be reading this danmei book at the moment, so I thought I'd throw up a post for any comments if anyone wants to read along now or later, and shove my locked-twitter read-along thoughts somewhere more accessible. I'm going to break it up by blocks of chapters, then do an Overall Thoughts subsection. Assume spoilers.

- They’re fighting Binghe’s absentee dad, who has apparently heard ALL ABOUT the humiliating gay romance ballad about them and has Questions. Ideal. All I want from a novel honestly.

- Two chapters of dumb bed trick comedy at the height of the plot, just, great okay fine

- Binghe got his intelligence from his mom, the heavenly demon side is just *sees people emerge from fighting in tent* 'o a threesome?'

- (Clearly the oversexed desperate romantic who jumps to conclusions shit is demonic, tho) (weirdly the Ruthlessness might also be a mom thing)

- I was wondering why the Shen Jiu backstory didn't come up more/weigh on this relationship, bc how could Binghe resist Rare Shizun Lore, but the way it comes up in canon super decentralises it&renders it suspicious, so it's not something I can see Binghe super worrying about
